Fast and Tao 22
In the past few months I have been reading a passage from Tao te Ching every night. I have read them all and now randomly flip to a page. This one came last night and I thought it was fitting. Although I am trying to refrain from certain input that comes from technology during my fast, but I thought I would share this as an output…
Tao 22
If you want to become whole,
let yourself be partial.
If you want to become straight,
let yourself be crooked.
If you want to become full,
let yourself be empty.
If you want to be reborn,
let yourself die.
If you want to be given everything,
give everything up.
The Master, by residing in the Tao,
sets an example for all beings.
Because he doesn’t display himself,
people can see his light.
Because he has nothing to prove,
people can trust his words.
Because he doesn’t know who he is,
people recognize themselves in him.
Because he hsa no goal in mind,
everything he does succeeds.
When the ancient Masters said,
“If you want to be given everything,
give everything up,”
they weren’t using empty phrases.
Only in being lived by the Tao
can you be truly yourself.
Diving Deep
I like to swim around in the currents
on my own, without any deterrents
diving deep to see whats hidden below
then rising above to challenge what I know.
There’s so much life in my soul’s canyons
with layers upon layers to recount what has happened
its a tough trek, steep and dry
all by myself but I know I must try
There’s abundance and life at the bottom that’s all mine.
At the lowest depths where life abounds
I can jump, fly, relax and swim around
absorbing the love within me that I’ve found
hearing nature’s harmony resound
taking in the beauty that’s so profound
its all about goodness when you go this far down.

Knowing others is intelligence;
Knowing yourself is true wisdom.
Mastering others is strength;
Mastering yourself is true power.
if you realize that you have enough, you are truly rich.
if you stay in the center and embrace death with your whole heart
– you will endure forever.

A Gal
i met a gal
and showed her how
I frame my window
to see the world
with clear glass panes
seeing the light of the sun
explaining that it will rain
and suggested she try to reframe.
she smiled and said
she felt good around me
and would try as well
to turn that key.
my other friend said
my presence is intoxicating
that its so different when I’m around.
i said i will never know
what its like when I’m not in tow

Positive Influences
Gratitude is what I feel
this reality is totally real.
positive influences keep entering my life
like vitamins prescribed by the wise midwife.
Totally unexpected and I’m always in surprise
when they shed their outer layer of disguise
feeling so comfortable that they open up
sharing their milk like a mother with a newborn pup.
It’s all coming back as I’m following my bliss
while sharing big hugs and the new cheeks to kiss
I’m getting emotional deposits from all sides
like the moon’s light changing the tide
I’m all in – I know this is what its all about
the rain is bringing prosperity after the drought.
Spark the Light
How to spark the light… the intellectual light in the dark? You can’t just point out and say “this is it.” There is a process of learning, thinking involved that eventually creates a revolution in one’s mind that creates the spark. That spark hopefully leads to light and it all has to start somewhere, but it has to be discovered individually – by one’s own merit – by one’s own way – that’s the only way for anything to have a full and major effect upon one’s life.
Einstein’s Light
Everything is about the light
striving every day to live right.
I take Einstein’s light to mean so much more
like living life without keeping score.
Listening to the interpretation of time and space
while watching the expressions formed on your face.
Slowing it down and talking about time
creates an awareness in my mind.
I love that you make me think
about relations and the importance of being in sync.
Dipping in space as our world revolves around us
this helps me to understand karma and the little stuff.
If you live by this idea you’re bound to know whats good
while funneling your energy to be understood.
So my world really does revolve around me,
this realization finally allows me to breathe.
I have control of the good, bad and neutral that comes my way,
the responsibility is mine and I know it will be okay.
This idea makes incredible sense
now I can hurdle my mental fence.
So if we keep giving all of our love
we’re sure to rise up to the plane above
creating a unique world within space and time
never being restricted, limited or confined.
Searching for our own truths while we’re here together
In our own little dip now and possibly forever.
Forgetting about “things” and focusing within
while living simply we’re bound to win.
Together you and me
will finally know what its like to finally be free.
